car tuning diy

Is it possible to install a Ghia an air conditioner in a '74 Karmann?
My friend is having a garage near mint sitting in his VW. It takes a little tune (perhaps a carburetor rebuild, new tires, etc), but otherwise things are going well. However, I live in Florida. It's hotter than hell here, so naturally I would like air conditioning. You should know that I am close at hand in a very DIY-oriented, would all are homemade. I've worked on everything from metal cutting microelectronics, so I doubt a coil and some Freon (refrigerant or comparison) is a problem. Is it possible to go to a junkyard and take only one in a car post-80 and put it? Cut some vents is not a problem, nor is it fair, adhesives, etc. Is that a yes or no type of business? A business is not an option, will I have enough to pay all parties, so that plus some shmuck to do the same for $ 500 seems a bit ridiculous. Thanks guys.
Possible but not to bother. Could a super beetle ac unit work, or an all-electric drive that the power of SAP. The car is worth more without them. Understant it can get cold in Florida, but not the vehicle for them. Well, that's my experience with a KG in 1963 with a 6 volts, but were never strong enough to carry an air conditioning and to accelerate or climb hills at the same time.
