CAR IDLING PROBLEMS help me?
i have a 94 ford thunderbird lx 4.6 v8 AUTOMATIC and today i drove it to the market got there normal and when i turned it on to go home the cars RPM went really low and it turned off on me (STALLED?)so i had to keep accelerating so it wouldnt go low and turn off . NOW the only mods done to the car was a K&N AIR FILTER and MUFFLERS REMOVED
i did a tune up last month so i dont think it would be the spark plugs
oh and i have been revving the engine up to 4,000 lately
yes it is equipped with the MAF and TPS
Fords are really bad about this. The most immidiate thing I can think of is the idle speed controller, followed by the Mass Air flow sensor. I don’t know if that year model has these components though. Good luck. Avoid the ford dealership, unless you want to pay an arm and a leg.
