infiniti tuning

Would getting a basic tune up on my 1997 infiniti make a big difference on fuel economy and power?
The cars at 108,000 miles, and i believe the hoses have been replaced, possibly the water pump as well. I am 16 years old so I don’t have that much money to be spending, but i was thinking about getting new spark plugs with new wires. I was told i have to get platinum tip plugs. The basic tune up consist of spark plugs, wire, and an air filter. If i bought those three things would i notice a difference in fuel consumption and power?
Also should i spend 400 compared to the 200 dollars to get a full tune up?
A basic tune-up should also include checking and adjusting your timing, but yes, getting a tune-up will help fuel economy and power. Can’t tell you whether you need special spark plug, however, ’cause I’m not an Infinity expert.
What you might want to consider is taking auto shop at your school if it’s offered, or taking an intro to auto shop class at your local community college. They’ll teach you how to do tune-ups yourself, which will be cheaper.
